This CERV Daphne topic supports systemic changes in preventing, detecting and responding to violence against children, contributing to the Commission Recommendation on integrated child protection systems. Managed by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers, it promotes multidisciplinary cooperation among public authorities, professionals and civil society, with families and children closely involved.
Projects may strengthen prevention, child-friendly reporting and referrals, integrated victim support, accountability and monitoring, or national child protection and anti-bullying plans. Relevant sectors include education, justice, health and mental health, social services, care, digital services, sport, leisure, media and culture. Practical, sustainable measures are preferred. Children must participate meaningfully in project design, implementation and monitoring, with strict safeguarding. Research may support project objectives but cannot be the main focus.
