Description
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation offers this award to keep meritorious cystic fibrosis (CF) research moving when an NIH R01 or equivalent governmental application has been favorably reviewed but cannot be funded. The one-year bridge award supports work that develops preliminary data, addresses reviewers’ concerns, and improves the proposal’s prospects when resubmitted to the original funding agency.
The Foundation prioritizes research that could advance prevention or treatment or improve understanding of CF disease mechanisms and pathophysiology. Areas of interest include the effects of CFTR modulators, approaches for people who do not benefit from them, difficult-to-treat infections, and CF-related complications.
