Description
This program supports outstanding cystic fibrosis (CF) research projects that have been reviewed by the NIH (or an equivalent governmental funding agency) as R01 applications and received an impact score of 1–45 but were not funded due to budget constraints. The goal is to maintain momentum in promising CF research by providing short-term bridge funding to generate preliminary data, thereby strengthening the competitiveness of resubmitted applications for future governmental support. The award is not intended to replace governmental funding, but rather to ensure that highly meritorious CF research projects continue moving forward.
