Description
The Chair in Emerging Technologies scheme is a flagship program by the Royal Academy of Engineering, designed to provide long-term, flexible support to global research leaders advancing innovative technology areas with the potential to deliver significant economic and social benefits to the UK. The scheme enables recipients to pursue a sustained, strategic research vision over a ten-year period, supporting disruptive innovation in both established and overlooked fields, as well as new technological areas. Awardees are expected to focus on research that drives technological innovation and application, rather than scientific advancement for its own sake. The programme includes mentoring by Fellows of the Academy and access to a network of leading engineers and innovators.
