The Chair’s Memorial Scholarship, offered by the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC) through the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), honors past CCCC Chairs by supporting the academic and professional growth of emerging scholars in composition studies. Each year, four scholarships of $750 are awarded to full-time graduate students who are presenting at the annual CCCC convention and who demonstrate scholarly promise and merit in the field of rhetoric and composition. The scholarship aims to help cover travel or participation costs for recipients.
Applicants are evaluated on the contribution of their work to ongoing disciplinary concerns, the use or innovation of relevant methods and methodologies, and the significance of their work for rhetoric and composition teaching, research, theory, and practice.
