Established by the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) Board in 2022, the Changemaker of the Year Award honors an organization, team or individual advancing transformative change within Appalachian Ohio. It celebrates leadership, generosity and collaboration that strengthen communities and turn local resources and partnerships into lasting benefits.
Past honorees demonstrate the award’s focus on community impact: connecting livestock donations with food pantries, bringing free vision care to students, building philanthropic resources to address disparities, and establishing a permanent hunger-relief endowment. These examples reflect recognition of collaborative efforts that address community needs and improve quality of life across the region.
