Description
Charge Up New Jersey is an electric vehicle incentive program run by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities through New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program (NJCEP). It promotes clean vehicle adoption in New Jersey by supporting the purchase or lease of a new, eligible battery electric vehicle and the purchase of an eligible EV charger. The program focuses on these purchases rather than research or other project work.
The initiative is part of NJCEP’s broader statewide effort to help New Jersey residents and other entities save energy and money while benefiting the environment. NJCEP’s electric vehicle programs offset vehicle and charging infrastructure costs to encourage a shift away from gasoline and diesel use, with environmental benefits including less air pollution and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
