Description
This program, administered by the Chesapeake Bay Trust in partnership with Charles County, funds projects that increase tree cover in both urban and rural areas of Charles County, Maryland. The primary goals are to expand forest habitat, improve water quality, provide natural cooling in urban settings, and enhance community and ecosystem health. Funding is available for site preparation, planting, educational outreach, community engagement, and two-year maintenance of newly planted trees. Both established organizations and individual landowners are encouraged to apply, with a focus on projects that engage underrepresented communities and maximize ecological and social benefits.
