Funding Amounts: $33,280 living stipend per Corps Member for 12 months, plus a $6,000 completion award

Description
The Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr., Chesapeake Conservation and Climate Corps is administered by the Chesapeake Bay Trust in partnership with Maryland Corps/Service Year Option. It places young adults ages 18–25, with or without college degrees, with host organizations for a full-time year of environmental service. The Trust anticipates approximately 80 placements for August 17, 2027–August 16, 2028.
Host positions support environmental restoration, community engagement, energy conservation, sustainable agriculture, forestry, and preK–12 environmental education. Activities may contribute directly or indirectly to climate action. The program combines practical experience with mentorship, leadership training, professional development, and a peer network. Its goals include environmental protection, climate justice, greenhouse gas reductions, service to communities disproportionately affected by climate change, and preparation for green careers.
