Description
The American Mathematical Society’s Child Care Grants program helps parents participate more fully in mathematics meetings by reimbursing child care expenses. Administered by the AMS Meetings and Conferences Department, the program supports attendance at the Joint Mathematics Meetings (JMM) and AMS Sectional Meetings.
The grants support care rather than provide it directly. Sectional Meeting funds can cover care at home or at the meeting, including hiring a nanny at home or bringing a caregiver. JMM grants may be used in any way that helps parents with child care during the meeting. Parents arrange their own care; AMS does not offer on-site child care or recommend providers.
