The Child Care Nutrition Program is run by the City of Seattle’s Human Services Department (HSD). It helps home-based child care providers and Friends, Family & Neighbors (FFN) care providers plan and provide nourishing meals that meet the USDA’s Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) requirements. Support combines contributions toward food costs with access to a nutrition specialist who can help with menu planning and children’s special dietary needs.
The program is part of HSD’s broader work supporting Seattle’s neighbors and communities through community-based organizations and programs. HSD works with community partners to understand human service needs and develop an integrated regional human services system, directing City resources toward vulnerable residents and investments that reduce disparities.
