Description
Cancer Research UK’s Childhood Cancer Therapeutic Catalyst accelerates the translation of discovery research into novel therapeutics for children and young people with cancer. It supports early drug discovery across all childhood cancer indications and modalities, de-risking promising opportunities so they can progress to further research, funding or partnering. Suitable work includes novel target and pathway validation, new therapeutic approaches to validated targets, target identification platforms and screens, and drug discovery feasibility studies.
Projects combine academic laboratory expertise with Cancer Research Horizons’ Therapeutic Innovation team. The scheme prioritises high-impact discoveries with a clear route to patient benefit, robust proof of concept and a strong disease-positioning hypothesis. Projects must validate their hypothesis and reach an inflection point within 18 months that positions them for potential onward investment.
