Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center (APARC) brings leading professionals and scholars from Asia and the United States to conduct research on contemporary China affairs and/or U.S.-China policy. Its broad aim is to strengthen U.S.-China relations through original research on topics prominent on the bilateral policy agenda.

They also take a leading role in organizing a major conference at Stanford on an important U.S.-China policy topic. Each fellow’s research and annual conference are expected to result in a published product, such as a book, policy brief, report, or collection of conference proceedings.
