Established in 2015, the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation’s Research Fellowship Program supports early-career researchers worldwide studying cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). It funds innovative basic, translational, and clinical research to improve understanding of this complex disease and accelerate progress toward a cure. Supported work includes laboratory-based models without patient clinical data, human samples or sample-derived data annotated with clinical outcomes, and studies of patient outcomes, including population and epidemiology research.
The program emphasizes research that can affect patient outcomes through hypothesis-driven aims, well-designed analyses, and statistical rigor. CCF also seeks to foster working relationships among researchers, institutions, and industry, encouraging the sharing of information, samples, and expertise. Prior experience in cholangiocarcinoma research is not required.
