Description
The Kidney Cancer Research Alliance (KCCure) funds research into chromophobe renal cell carcinoma (RCC), a rare kidney cancer subtype accounting for roughly 5% of RCC tumors. The grant is part of KCCure’s patient-driven research program, which directs funding toward priorities identified by patients and gaps in care uncovered through patient-centered research.
The award supports innovative scientific work with potential clinical impact. Chromophobe RCC can have poor survival outcomes once metastatic, and treatments established for the more common clear cell RCC have not been identified for chromophobe RCC.
