Description
This Horizon Europe call targets the development and market integration of innovative advanced materials designed for circularity, with a particular focus on recyclable polymers, composites, magnets, and metal alloys for additive manufacturing. The aim is to enhance the circularity and resilience of supply networks across strategic value chains—especially energy and construction—by supporting research and innovation (R&I) projects that:
- Develop new advanced materials with superior or novel functionalities for circular use.
- Integrate these materials into industrial manufacturing processes.
- Establish circular business models, considering lifecycle costs and industrial uptake.
- Demonstrate transformative potential via industrial use cases and scalable recovery/recycling.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer to other sectors.
- Apply the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) framework to ensure innovations are safer and more sustainable.
- Leverage digital tools, FAIR data, and AI to support the circular transition and foster collaboration across the innovation chain.
Projects are encouraged to build on or collaborate with existing European initiatives. Proposals must declare a primary application area (energy or construction), and the portfolio approach will fund at least one project in each area.
