Description
The City Connecting Link Improvement Program (CCLIP) provides federal and state funds to cities for improvements to City Connecting Links—city streets with a state highway designation. The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) administers the program through its Bureau of Local Projects, with three funding categories: Surface Preservation, Pavement Restoration, and Geometric Improvement.
The program supports work ranging from pavement maintenance to extensive pavement replacement and roadway geometry changes. Surface Preservation maintains or extends the life of the driving surface, while Pavement Restoration addresses more severe pavement problems and related infrastructure repairs. Geometric Improvement supports changes intended to improve safety, capacity, or operational efficiency, including intersection reconstruction, turn-lane improvements, and widening for larger vehicles.
