--- ## Description The City of Rockville RainScapes Rebate Program, administered by the Chesapeake Bay Trust, provides financial incentives to property owners and not-for-profit organizations within the City of Rockville, Maryland, to implement stormwater management practices. The program aims to improve the quality of stormwater runoff, reduce pollution, and enhance the health of local streams and rivers. Eight types of projects are eligible: rain barrels, cisterns, conservation landscaping, rain gardens, tree canopy, green roofs, pavement removal, and permeable pavers. The program is designed to encourage environmentally beneficial practices on private property and to foster a more resilient local environment. --- ## Due Dates - Applications are accepted on a rolling basis (no fixed deadline). - Funds are distributed first come, first served, and the program remains open until funds are depleted for the fiscal year. --- ## Funding Amount - Maximum rebate: **$5,000 per property (lifetime maximum)** for residential and not-for-profit properties. - Rebates by practice: - **Rain barrels:** $1/gallon (minimum 50 gallons) - **Cisterns:** $1/gallon (minimum 250 gallons) - **Rain gardens:** $10/sq. ft. (minimum 75 sq. ft.) - **Tree canopy:** $150/tree (must be native, with minimum size requirements) - **Pavement removal:** $6/sq. ft. (if replaced with conservation landscaping) or $3/sq. ft. (if replaced with sod; minimum 100 sq. ft.) - **Permeable pavers:** $14/sq. ft. (minimum 100 sq. ft.) - **Conservation landscaping:** $6/sq. ft. (with soil improvement) or $5/sq. ft. (without; minimum 250 sq. ft.) - **Green roofs:** $9/sq. ft.
