Supports New York City higher education institutions to strengthen civic education and engagement among undergraduate students.

--- ## Description The initiative aims to prepare undergraduate students in New York City to become informed, committed participants in civic life through ambitious, faculty-led curricular reforms and co-curricular opportunities. The program funds colleges and universities to develop or expand civic education that connects classroom learning to real-world engagement, focusing on local history, public service, and democratic principles. Projects may include new courses, experiential learning, or partnerships that foster civic responsibility and leadership skills. --- ## Due Dates - Concept papers due: August 1, 2025 - Notifications: November 2025 - Invited full proposals due: Early January 2026 - Earliest project start: March 2026 --- ## Funding Amount - Implementation grants: $100,000–$300,000, over 24–36 months (amount based on project scope) - Planning grants: $10,000–$25,000, over 6–12 months --- ## Eligibility - Open to accredited two- and four-year colleges, universities, higher education consortia, and nonprofit entities based in New York City. - Both single institutions and multi-institutional partnerships are eligible. - Applicants must be U.S.-based 501(c)(3) organizations. - Only activities based in the U.S. are eligible; international travel is not supported. --- ## Application Process 1. **Concept Paper Stage** - Submit a 3–5 page concept paper (including a 200–300 word abstract) outlining project goals, alignment with the RFP, type of grant (planning or implementation), and requested award amount. - No detailed budget required at this stage. - Email concept papers to [proposals@teagle.org](mailto:proposals@teagle.org) by August 1, 2025. 2. **Full Proposal Stage** - Selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal by early January 2026. - Detailed guidance will be provided to invited applicants. - Projects may begin as early as March 2026.
