The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) administers this state microgrant program for local first responder agencies in Georgia. Created by the Georgia General Assembly in 2022, the program supports emergency response equipment, supplies, technology, and other materials that help protect citizens in the jurisdictions served. Supported purchases include personal protective equipment, medical equipment, radios, fire suppression tools, rescue tools, and emergency response gear, including installation and maintenance costs.
The program focuses on direct operational needs rather than tactical enforcement, crowd control, surveillance, or general mobility. Applicants must explain how each requested item supports emergency response. Priority consideration goes to qualifying OneGeorgia counties, applicants without similar first responder state funding in the past fiscal year, and requests demonstrating that equipment funding is unavailable from other grants or funding sources.
