Description
The American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies (ASECS) and UCLA’s William Andrews Clark Memorial Library jointly fund this library-managed fellowship. It supports scholars pursuing eighteenth-century studies projects grounded in the Clark Library’s primary-source collections. Although the library’s holdings span the sixteenth through the twentieth centuries, the fellowship’s focus is eighteenth-century scholarship using materials within that broader collection.
The holdings encompass materials relevant to queer, disability, and ecocritical studies, as well as music and musicology, astronomy, geographies, and mathematics. They also support research on games, crime and incarceration, translation, architecture, foodways, and how-to manuals. This range offers resources for eighteenth-century projects across multiple disciplines and topics.
