Description
NYSERDA’s Clean Energy Career Pathways Training program supports industry-driven projects that build or expand New York’s training infrastructure and prepare new workers for clean energy jobs. Programs must combine technical training with career preparation, soft skills training, wraparound supports, and job placement assistance, responding to demonstrated employer needs.
Approximately 80% of funding is reserved for energy efficiency and building electrification. Other eligible areas include renewable energy, energy storage, smart grid, and electric vehicle charging station installation, operation, and maintenance. Supported activities include training delivery, hands-on equipment and labs, trainer development, certification fees, and internships within comprehensive programs. Transferable skills, such as welding, electrical work, and engineering, qualify when connected to clean energy jobs.
