Description
This opportunity, administered by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), funds projects that deliver technical training, career preparation, wraparound services, and job placement support to prepare new workers for entry-level clean energy careers in New York State. The program aims to build or expand training infrastructure and capacity, prioritizing equitable access and inclusion for disadvantaged communities and priority populations. Projects must be industry-driven, meet demonstrated business needs, and focus primarily on energy efficiency and building electrification, with additional support for renewable energy, energy storage, smart grid, and electric vehicle charging stations. Eligible activities include technical training delivery, equipment purchases for hands-on labs, training of trainers, test and certification fees, internships (as part of a comprehensive program), and job placement services. All training must occur in New York State and serve its residents.
