Description
Vermont’s Fish & Wildlife Department administers the Clean Vessel Act Grant within the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources. It helps marinas and public organizations provide recreational boaters with places to dispose of sewage instead of discharging it into public waters. The Vermont program is funded through the federal Clean Vessel Act program, administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Funding supports construction, renovation, operation, and maintenance of pumpout stations, pumpout boats, and dump stations. Eligible work also includes holding tanks, piping, hauling, and disposal services that move boater sewage to treatment plants. The program aims to make disposal convenient for boaters and protect water quality around lakes and marinas.
