Description
The Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF), administered by the New Mexico Environment Department, provides low-interest loans for planning, design, and construction projects that protect water quality across New Mexico. It supports wastewater infrastructure, decentralized sewage treatment, stormwater management, non-point source management, and watershed projects.
The program also finances conservation measures that reduce demand on publicly owned treatment works, improvements that reduce those facilities’ energy consumption, wastewater or stormwater reuse and recycling, and treatment works security improvements. Projects are evaluated and ranked according to the level of water quality protection they achieve. Loan subsidies may be available to disadvantaged borrowers or borrowers whose projects incorporate sustainability features.
