    Description

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) administers Cleanup, Remediation and Watershed Enhancement through its Cannabis Restoration Grant Program. Funded through the Environmental Restoration and Protection Account, the opportunity supports local partnerships addressing cannabis cultivation impacts on public, private, and tribal lands statewide. Projects may remove waste, contaminants, and illicit cultivation infrastructure, treat roads and watercourse crossings to reduce sediment delivery, conserve water, or enhance native wildlife habitat and connectivity.

The solicitation supports planning, cleanup and remediation, implementation, and combined planning and implementation projects. Projects should restore affected habitat, reduce toxic-material risks to wildlife and people, or alleviate environmental conditions limiting native species. Proposals directly benefiting California-listed threatened or endangered species receive higher scores. Work advancing state conservation plans, species recovery, and local cannabis equity programs also receives particular consideration.
