    Description

The Climate Pollution Reduction Grants (CPRG) program is an EPA initiative authorized by the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. In New Hampshire, NHDES leads planning to identify, evaluate and implement measures that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and associated air pollution. The program prioritizes good jobs, lower family energy costs, community-driven solutions in low-income and disadvantaged communities (LIDACs), and cleaner air where people live, work, play and attend school.

Planning covers electricity generation, industry, transportation, buildings, agriculture and natural and working lands, and waste management. New Hampshire’s Priority Climate Action Plan identifies near-term, implementation-ready measures. Its Comprehensive Climate Action Plan must address all significant emissions sources and sinks across the state’s economic sectors, with near- and long-term strategies. A subsequent Status Report reviews implementation progress and updates analyses and modeling.
