    Description

NOAA’s Climate Program Office (CPO) supports research applying Super Intelligence/Machine Learning (SI/ML) to advance Earth system science and inform hazard resilience decisions. This FY 2027 competition is jointly administered by the Modeling, Analysis, Predictions and Projections (MAPP), Adaptation Sciences (AdSci), and National Integrated Heat Health Information System (NIHHIS) programs.

Proposals may address one or more of three priorities: multi-annual to decadal prediction, hazard resilience decision-support information, and extreme heat predictions and preparedness. The competition seeks innovation that strengthens NOAA capabilities, connects research with decision-making needs, and builds partnerships across NOAA and the external research community. Projects should interpret SI/ML findings through relevant domain sciences and provide clear plans for sharing data and methods.
