Description
The Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (MDAR) uses the Climate Smart Agriculture Grant Programs (CSAP) application to administer four programs supporting capital improvements on Massachusetts farms. Agricultural operations may request support from one or more program areas through a single application, with each project evaluated against its selected program’s requirements.
The programs support equipment and infrastructure that reduce food-safety risks, conserve natural resources, strengthen climate resilience, reduce agricultural energy use, and improve on-farm composting. Food Safety serves produce and aquaculture operations; Environmental addresses water, soil, nutrients, and climate adaptation; Energy supports efficiency and eligible renewable systems; and Compost improves processing, site management, environmental performance, and finished-compost use.
