Description
The Novo Nordisk Foundation’s Clinical Emerging Investigator programme supports promising clinicians building their own research or research group while continuing clinical work and medical specialist training. It aims to strengthen Danish clinical and translational research at a high international level, supporting ambitious, original research relevant to patients and human health. The programme is intended for starting clinical research leaders rather than well-established clinical researchers with permanent employment.
The research scope includes disease mechanisms, treatment methods, disease trajectories, diagnostics, epidemiology, public health, family medicine and biomedicine. Supported approaches can include intervention studies, register-based research, proof-of-concept studies, pilot projects, initial clinical trials and clinical testing. These examples are not exhaustive. Applications are assessed by the Foundation’s Committee on Clinical and Translational Medicine.
