Description
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation supports pilot and feasibility projects involving human subjects or samples that develop and test new hypotheses or methods relevant to cystic fibrosis (CF), including methods applied to CF for the first time. The award also helps promising new investigators establish themselves in CF research. Its goal is to generate enough preliminary data to identify strategies for a major question requiring larger-scale research or a multicenter collaborative trial.
Supported approaches include clinical observational or interventional, translational, and epidemiologic research addressing diagnosis, treatment, disease management, symptoms, or CF pathophysiology. Special consideration goes to new approaches, under-researched topics, and creative research avenues. Preliminary data are not required, but applicants must provide sufficient background and rationale for human-subject research.
