The American Contact Dermatitis Society (ACDS) offers Clinical Research Awards for relevant clinical studies directed toward contact dermatitis. Studies that address clinical problems or have applications to clinical problems receive preferential consideration. The program supports medical students, residents, fellows, and dermatologists or investigators in the first five years of practice in North, Central, and South America.

Within the program, the James R. Nethercott Clinical Research Award Fund honors the memory and achievements of Dr. James R. Nethercott. This fund supports young investigators studying occupational dermatology and/or the epidemiology of contact dermatitis. Award funding is intended for research-related expenses, with proposals evaluated by the ACDS Clinical Research Studies Committee.
