Description
The American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation’s Clinical Research Grants for Collaborative Research Studies support planning and pilot research that prepares investigators for larger collaborative studies. Research should directly advance treatment efficacy or assessment practices in audiology and speech-language pathology, or investigate the implementation of evidence into practice. Priority goes to bold, forward-thinking solutions that could improve everyday functioning for people with, or at risk for, communication and related impairments.
Projects must generate preliminary data demonstrating the feasibility and promise of a larger study. Mid-career investigators with substantial research experience are good candidates, and interdisciplinary collaborations are encouraged. Investigators may work with another funded researcher to learn or refine an experimental protocol. The goal is to launch new research directions that can compete for external funding and build a sustained, clinically relevant research program.
