    Description

Intuitive Foundation’s Clinical Research Grants support research at nonprofit institutions worldwide that addresses important questions about robotic-assisted surgical care and patient outcomes. The 2026–2028 program encourages, but does not require, proposals in four priority areas: comparative clinical outcomes, imaging and navigation, health economics and outcomes, and development of emerging robotic-assisted procedures using existing technologies.

The program seeks novel, clinically relevant research with sound methods and a feasible scope. Interests include comparisons with other surgical approaches or therapies, opioid use and pain, enhanced recovery protocols, improved tissue visualization, quality of life, and locally grounded cost-effectiveness studies. New-procedure research may explore procedures without laparoscopic equivalents or develop reproducible surgical-access workflows across variations in patient body habitus and pathology.
