Summary: Supports clinical research projects in IBD that address significant clinical questions to improve patient care and influence clinical guidelines.
The Clinical Research Investigator-Initiated Awards (CRIA) from the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation are designed to fund impactful clinical research projects that address key clinical questions in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. The program aims to directly improve patient care and influence clinical practice by supporting studies that involve direct patient interaction or utilize large datasets (such as claims or administrative data). The CRIA encompasses both Career Development Awards (CDA) for junior faculty and Senior Research Awards (SRA) for experienced investigators. Projects should align with the Foundation’s identified research priorities, especially those outlined in the "Pragmatic Clinical Research" publication, but proposals with a compelling rationale outside these areas are also considered.
