Description
The British Heart Foundation’s Clinical Research Training Fellowships support clinicians undertaking research training leading to a PhD, MD or equivalent qualification. The scheme combines a supervised research project with training in scientific techniques and a programme of skills development. It forms part of BHF’s support for research-active clinicians in cardiovascular sciences and its broader work on preventing, diagnosing and treating heart and circulatory conditions.
Projects should present an original hypothesis supported by background evidence and pilot data, an experimental design, and the expected value of the results. Research can include interventional or observational clinical studies. BHF also considers funding or part-funding fellowships that include research experience with an industry partner, such as experimental medicine.
