Description
The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) Clinical Teacher Award recognizes a career devoted to teaching clinical infectious diseases to fellows, residents or medical students. It honors excellence as a clinician alongside the motivation to teach the next generation. The award is newly named in honor of Catherine Wilfert, MD, FIDSA, a past IDSA president, pioneer in HIV prevention and advocate for the treatment and prevention of HIV in infants.
Part of IDSA’s annual Society Awards, this recognition celebrates the connection between clinical care, education and sustained mentorship. Individuals are nominated by their peers, with awards made by the Society Awards Committee and Board of Directors. Nominations are encouraged across the diversity of professional focus within infectious diseases.
