Description
The National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS), part of the NIH, anticipates releasing a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to support the implementation of investigator-initiated, single or multi-site interventional clinical trials (across all trial phases) relevant to its mission. This program is intended for investigators who have completed all preparatory work (such as trial design, protocol synopsis, and data analysis plan) and are ready to move into the implementation phase of their clinical trial. The award supports a two-phase process: the first phase allows for final trial preparations (e.g., establishing a single IRB, site agreements, staff hiring), and transition to the second phase (trial initiation) is contingent upon meeting pre-specified milestones and NIAMS approval. Projects must be hypothesis-driven and aim for high clinical impact within NIAMS research priorities.
