Clinical Trials in Immune Tolerance supports scientists conducting clinical trials, developing assays, and studying mechanisms to induce, assess, and understand immune tolerance across several disease areas.
Funder: Immune Tolerance Network
Due Dates: Rolling (Concept Proposals accepted year-round)

Summary: Supports clinical trials, tolerance assays, and mechanistic studies to induce, assess, and understand immune tolerance.
Key Information: Non-human and preclinical studies are not accepted.
The Immune Tolerance Network (ITN) accepts Concept Proposals for novel clinical trials with testable hypotheses designed to induce immune tolerance in allergy and asthma, autoimmune disease, transplantation, and type 1 diabetes. It also supports development of novel tolerance assays and mechanistic studies that establish new surrogate biomarkers of immune tolerance or investigate the mechanisms of clinical tolerance.
ITN is an international clinical research consortium funded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health. Its collaborative model integrates hypothesis-driven, mechanism-based research into clinical trials, looking beyond traditional safety and efficacy endpoints to understand tolerance induction and maintenance. Proposals may also use ITN tolerance assay resources within existing or planned trials funded from other sources.
