Summary: Supports CLL research on immune dysfunction, early disease evolution, novel therapies, and high-risk disease to accelerate clinical advances.
Key Information: Full applications are by invitation following LOI review; each investigator may lead only one application per cycle.
CLL Global Research Foundation funds specific research projects to accelerate the control and cure of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and related leukemias and lymphomas. The Foundation prioritizes innovative work with potential to affect clinical care within two to three years, particularly through better diagnostic, monitoring, and therapeutic tools. Patients and families contribute funding and help guide the organization’s mission.
The program has four research priorities: restoring anti-tumor immunity and advancing immune therapies; understanding CLL origins and progression from monoclonal B-cell lymphocytosis; identifying novel targets and treatments, particularly for inhibitor-refractory disease; and addressing high-risk, genomically complex CLL and Richter transformation. Areas of interest include CAR-T cells, bispecific antibodies, rational treatment combinations, TP53 disruption, early relapse, and treatment resistance. Translational approaches connecting biological insights to clinical application are strongly encouraged.
