Description
The ACS Green Chemistry Institute Pharmaceutical Roundtable (GCIPR) created this award to recognize company-level achievements by Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) supporting pharmaceutical research, development, and manufacturing. It recognizes greener synthetic routes for starting materials, intermediates, and active pharmaceutical ingredients, as well as improvements in reaction conditions and chemical or manufacturing technologies.
Nominations should demonstrate green chemistry accomplishments at meaningful scale and explain their significance. Relevant improvements include reduced process mass intensity, improved greenness metrics, waste reduction, greater robustness, lower environmental, health, and safety impacts, and reduced use of toxic or hazardous chemicals, solvents, and reagents. The award emphasizes a strategic company commitment to green chemistry and engineering innovation and greater industrial sustainability.
