Description
This award, established by the ACS Green Chemistry Institute Pharmaceutical Roundtable, honors Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) companies that have demonstrated significant advancements in green chemistry within pharmaceutical research, development, and manufacturing. The program is designed to spotlight achievements in greener synthetic route development for starting materials, intermediates, or active pharmaceutical ingredients, as well as innovative reaction conditions and manufacturing technologies. Submissions should showcase impactful accomplishments at scale—such as reductions in waste or hazardous substances, improved process mass intensity, or enhanced environmental, health, and safety outcomes. The award is presented at the annual Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference, where recipients are invited to share their work.
