Description
The CNS Y-12 Community Investment Fund supports programs addressing community needs in East Tennessee. Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLC, the contractor at Y-12 National Security Complex, established the fund at East Tennessee Foundation to benefit Oak Ridge and surrounding communities. An employee-based Investment Advisory Committee recommends support where needs are greatest and determines priorities for each calendar year.
The 2026 priorities were teen resilience and veteran support. Teen resilience programs address poverty, trauma, instability, and lack of adult support among at-risk middle and high school students. Services may include healthcare, education, job and life skills, and foster care transitions. Veteran programs support veterans and their families, including families of fallen soldiers, through mental health services, housing, employment skills, disability support, service dogs, and community reintegration.
