    Description

This program is designed to strengthen bottom-up innovation by developing and institutionalizing mechanisms that support and incentivize researchers and practitioners worldwide to collaborate on evidence-based solutions for children's learning needs. Leveraging the Jacobs Foundation network, the initiative aims to amplify the integration of evidence-based practices into education ecosystems by forming new coalitions among stakeholders.

The program features three main components:

    • Evidence-based start-up pipeline: In partnership with UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, world-class inventors receive support to move educational technology ideas from labs into learners' hands, with a focus on building a pipeline of EdTech entrepreneurs.
    • Venture acceleration: In collaboration with the Penn Graduate School of Education, a three-year pathway is provided for the development, acceleration, and ecosystem engagement of impactful education solutions, including 6–8 months of mentoring, skill-building, coaching, and networking.
    • Scaling support in Ghana: With Reach for Change, tailored support is offered to education-focused social entrepreneurs in Ghana, including a two-year scaling readiness program to strengthen evidence-based aspects and lay the groundwork for future expansion.
