Description
The California State Coastal Conservancy funds projects along California’s coast, in coastal watersheds, and throughout the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area. Projects can expand access to beaches, parks, and trails; protect or restore natural lands and wildlife habitat; preserve working lands; and help communities adapt to climate change.
The Conservancy can support work from feasibility studies, acquisition, and community-involved planning through design, environmental review, permitting, construction, and project-related monitoring. Projects must advance its strategic plan. Multi-benefit projects, projects serving disadvantaged communities, and projects advancing regional or statewide plans receive higher priority. Most grants—including Climate Ready, Wildfire Resilience, regional programs, and 2024 Climate Bond funding—use this rolling process; Explore the Coast and Coastal Stories have separate grant rounds.
