Description
The Coastal Incentive Grant program is administered by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Coastal Resources Division through the Georgia Coastal Management Program (GCMP). It distributes NOAA funding under the Coastal Zone Management Act through competitive subgrants. The program balances coastal economic development with preservation of natural, environmental, historic, archaeological, and recreational resources, addressing local and regional resource protection priorities and specific coastal management research needs.
Cycle 30 supports research, planning, education/outreach, and low-cost construction or land acquisition. Its five themes are Sustainable Communities, Oceans and Wetlands, Public Access and Land Conservation, Disaster Resiliency and Coastal Hazards, and Nature-Based Solutions. Projects may advance sustainable planning, stormwater management, habitat conservation, coastal hazard adaptation, or public access. Research should produce information, products, or results immediately useful to coastal managers or local communities.
