Description
The Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board (OWEB) makes federal National Coastal Wetlands Conservation Grant Program funding available to local conservation and restoration partners through sub-grants. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service runs the national competitive program; OWEB serves as the official federal grantee and submits applications on behalf of local partners.
Restoration grants support restoring, enhancing, or managing coastal wetland ecosystems. Acquisition grants support purchasing a permanent conservation easement or fee title in coastal lands or coastal wetland ecosystems from willing sellers. Both categories aim to conserve coastal wetlands over the long term, benefiting coastal communities and fish and wildlife habitat.
