Description
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) administers Coastal Zone grants through Pennsylvania’s Coastal Resources Management (CRM) Program. The program receives an annual grant award from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), with a portion supporting projects that address one or more CRM priority areas in Pennsylvania’s Delaware Estuary and Lake Erie Coastal Zones.
DEP awards funding through a competitive process. Program staff, two local Coastal Zone Advisory Committees, and the State Coastal Zone Advisory Committee review eligible projects against criteria published in the Grant Application Instruction Guide. The program also maintains records of previously funded projects, including grantees, award amounts, and brief project summaries, to illustrate the work supported.
