Description
The Coastal Zone Grant, administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), provides competitive funding for projects that further the goals of Pennsylvania’s Coastal Resources Management Program (CRMP). Funded annually through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the program supports research, planning, education, acquisition, and construction projects that address priority areas such as public access, polluted runoff, coastal hazards, habitat protection, and more within the state’s defined coastal zones (Delaware Estuary and Lake Erie).
Projects must align with CRMP focus areas and demonstrate measurable outcomes that benefit Pennsylvania’s coastal resources. The program emphasizes stewardship, public access, hazard mitigation, and sustainable development in Bucks, Philadelphia, Delaware, and Erie counties.
