Summary: Recognizes cognitive science papers and symposia that advance under-represented disciplines and interdisciplinary approaches to understanding the human mind.
Key Information: Applicants must indicate award eligibility during conference submission.
The Cognitive Science Society’s Disciplinary Diversity & Integration Awards recognize outstanding cognitive science research from disciplines traditionally under-represented at the Society’s annual conferences and in its journals. The awards emphasize novel interdisciplinary perspectives and integrative approaches to understanding the human mind, rewarding work that brings different disciplinary perspectives together.
Recognition is available for full research papers and organized symposia, supporting both individual research contributions and coordinated conference discussions. Researchers at any career level, from students to faculty, may be considered. The symposium award also connects conference discussion with publication: an organizer can receive an additional monetary award if the symposium becomes a successful proposal to the Society’s journal, Topics in Cognitive Science (topiCS).
