Description
The Colgate-Palmolive Grant for Alternative Research is offered through the Society of Toxicology’s awards program with support from Colgate-Palmolive. It supports scientists developing, refining, or validating scientifically acceptable alternatives to animal methods for assessing the safety of new chemicals and formulations. Projects using in vitro or other non-animal models receive high priority in reproductive and developmental toxicology, neurotoxicology, systemic toxicology, sensitization, and acute toxicity.
Proposed methods must replace the use of animals in research and have potential to advance the field and affect future experiments involving animals. Colgate-Palmolive prefers non-animal serum and antibodies when research uses cell culture supplements or antibodies.
