Description
The Colgate-Palmolive Company sponsors this annual fellowship through the Society of Toxicology (SOT) to advance alternatives to animal testing in toxicological research. It supports postdoctoral trainees at academic institutions, federal/national laboratories, and research institutes worldwide. Proposed work should involve in vitro or animal alternative methods, with particular attention to its potential to advance the field of alternatives and develop methods relevant to reducing, replacing, or refining animal use.
The fellowship provides one year of stipend and research-related support. Preference is given to applicants in their first year of postdoctoral study when the fellowship is awarded. Colgate-Palmolive also prefers non-animal serum and antibodies, including chemically defined media and non-animal recombinant antibodies, as part of its emphasis on alternatives in cell-based research.
