Schmidt Ocean Institute (SOI) invites expressions of interest (EOI) for collaborative, multidisciplinary ocean research projects utilizing the advanced capabilities of the R/V Falkor (too). This opportunity provides complimentary access to the vessel’s scientific facilities, analytical tools, and technical and operational support, enabling innovative studies in oceanography, marine technology, and related outreach. SOI emphasizes impactful scientific discovery, technological advancement, open data sharing, and inclusive engagement with local communities in regions of operation. Supported research spans seafloor mapping, biodiversity, ocean health, physical oceanography, deep-sea exploration, new marine technologies, and human impacts on marine environments. All data generated must be openly shared to advance global ocean understanding.
