Summary: Supports cross-disciplinary, multi-university research teams in Hong Kong to build research capacity and impact through collaborative projects.
The Collaborative Research Project Grant (CRPG), under the Collaborative Research Fund (CRF) of the Hong Kong Research Grants Council, is designed to foster high-quality, multi-investigator, multi-disciplinary research at UGC-funded universities in Hong Kong. The scheme emphasizes creative, cross-disciplinary, and cross-institutional collaborations that enhance research output in terms of attainment, quantity, dimensions, and impact. Funding supports staff, equipment, and general project expenses, with a strong focus on capacity building and developing areas of research strength. Renewal funding is available for extensions of existing projects under the same Project Coordinator, provided each renewal has distinct goals and objectives. Proposals are rigorously assessed on academic merit, long-term potential, collaborative opportunities, and project management viability.
